"Pedro el Poeta is an award-winning Hip-Hop/Spoken Word/Freestyle artist, activist, a proud father of two, a teacher, and an Eckerd College graduate with a B.A. in Creative Writing.  Since moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 2001, he has racked up a long list of accomplishments, including: Getting named 2014 Tampa Bay Artist of the Year at the 2014 Tampa Bay Regional Talkie Awards;  Being an honorary speaker at TEDx Tampa Bay 2011; Featuring music on the soundtrack of the award-winning full-length film, "Southsyde;" Performing the entire soundtrack of the internationally acclaimed, award-winning short film, "Torn Asunder;"  

Opening for legendary icons like Cypress Hill, Method Man & Redman; George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelics, Tom Morello, Black Uhuru, and Russell Simmon's Def Poetry Jam on Broadway; As well as many other great accomplishments. He has also produced five albums, including "Bigger Than This," and the very successful “Street Reporter EP,” both of which were executive produced by multi-platinum producer, Lance Quinn (Bon Jovi, Talking Heads, etc.).
