The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir

BIO

"Hailing from the humble heavy music scene of Savannah, GA, The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir set out with a DIY ethos, forward mentality, and an unrelenting drive. With our members having participated in regional acts Birdperson, Hot Plate, Soundaltar, and The Discussion, this project has helped us reach new levels as not only musicians but social commentators. We carry cornerstone values of acceptance, social recourse, equality, and radical empathy as our guiding lights, and want to show that heavy outsider music is for everyone. We are devoted to using our platform to spread awareness however we can, down to who we build relationships with. We are strong advocates of LGBTQ+ rights, racial equality, justice for survivors of abuse, and representation of society's outcasts and marginalized communities.

Musically, we channel a blend of sounds that are swatched from the palettes of 90s screamo, mathcore, and post-hardcore in a way that turns a flair for the nostalgic on its head. Our abrasiveness and energy has us garnering comparisons to The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust, and The Jesus Lizard but we are constantly evolving and trying to expand from there.

We have shared bills with SOUL GLO, The Body, Capra, Evergreen Terrace, Yashira, Zeta, Gillian Carter, Black Tusk, Midwife, WHORES, Lazer/Wulf, Yautja, played Sing Out Loud Festival in St. Augustine, FL (with headliners TLC, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Parquet Courts), played the digital Torquefest put on by the HEALTH discord, and are still growing rapidly and pushing ourselves into new territory.

We are on our way to becoming an underground powerhouse, and truly want to venture out into the world so as many people as possible can see us and hear our message of acceptance. Our frenetic performances and high octane music will make any show of ours one worth attending and one that will leave an impression."
